Our Mission

At Michaels Homeschool Academy, it is our mission to prepare and empower our students, with an exceptional education in a Christ-like environment. We strive to guide our students in their pursuits to grow into exceptional leaders in their homes, churches, schools, society, and culture while representing and seeking Christ in all areas.

Our History

Michaels Homeschool Academy (MHA) was established in the fall 2009 beginning with our PE (K5 through 8th grade) program. During the fall 2013, MHA celebrated its 5th consecutive year with the addition of our well needed PE high school program. In the fall 2014, God blessed us with the addition of our Spanish program. In the fall 2015, we once again expanded and added Mathematics to our Association and in the fall 2016, our sciences and music programs became a reality. In 2017, we continued our expansion with the addition of our Art program along with our Health/CPR/First Aid course. In 2019, we incorporated courses such as IEW English, Computer, and ACT/SAT Prep Courses. As a result, our program is now recognized as a FULL ACADEMY. We give God the honor and the glory for this exponential growth and exciting journey. Since 2009, we have watched some of its starting students grow into bright young people for Christ and continue to make good healthy decisions. Through MHA, students have learned the importance of teamwork through classroom activities, projects, team effort relays, tried their hand at sports like soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis, etc., explored the Tennessee River in a canoe, navigated through nature on a nature trail, unleashed their individuality through performing in front of an audience through our fun annual talent show, they have also taken "a walk through outer space" as they combined their creative minds with all of the exciting adventures to be had at WonderWorks........there is no end to the amazing experiences our students have had, and there is yet to explore.

Our Crest

Crests date back to early medieval Europe and were used on the battlefields to establish identity. Over time, the use of crests evolved to identify families, adoption, allegiance, property ownership, and profession. As a Christian Homeschool Organization, we hold God at the center of all things and use Him as our inspiration. We took an entire summer to meditate in prayer as we sought together every piece of this logo and its meaning.

As you read "Our Statement" below, you will find the meaning of each symbol represented on this beautiful shield. The basis of our shield represents the “Shield of Faith”. The arrows stand for “Pointing the Way”. PGF stands for our motto, “Put God First”. The stars represent our belief that “Children Will Shine”. The “M” stands for “Michaels”. The open book represents “God’s Word”. The torches represent an “Everlasting Flame”. SOLI DE GLORIA translates to “Only for the Glory of God.” Our crest in its entirety is a reminder that our faith can indeed guard us during our trials and tribulations as we grow and develop as an academic family.

We firmly believe that without God, our academy would not fulfill the needs of our families. We believe that it is our duty to Put God First when it comes to educating our youth and preparing them for this world. We do not require a signed statement of faith from any of our families. We believe that God called us as we are and that everyone should be made to feel welcomed. How else are we to be disciples of ALL men, women, and children? May we always love each other with the love of Christ.

OUR STATEMENT

WITH FAITH, WE WILL POINT THE WAY TO THE CROSS, WHERE JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS. AS WE PUT GOD FIRST IN OUR LIVES, WE BELIEVE THAT CHILDREN WILL SHINE AND THRIVE HERE AT THE MICHAELS HOMESCHOOL ACADEMY. WHEREVER WE GO, WE CHOOSE TO REPRESENT CHRIST AND OBEY HIS WORD WITH AN EVERLASTING FLAME IN OUR HEARTS AND TRY TO LIVE OUR LIVES ONLY FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."

-Isaiah 60: 1
