East Brainerd families - Michaels Homeschool Academy is coming to your area. We are moving to 2320 Hickory Valley Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

This is fantastic news and a new beginning! God has given us favor, blessings, and honor in our faithful ministry/service to our homeschooling communities. We are so grateful to the staff of Hickory Valley Baptist Church for opening their doors to our group and helping us continue to do His Kingdom work here on earth.

We are moving and looking forward to our new location. Several parents have already heard the great news, but it is my privilege to inform everyone who has not heard about it yet. An incredible opportunity has come up that we just simply could not pass up. One of our parents and a staff member at Oakwood Baptist Church informed us about her church's availability this coming fall. We are so excited to inform you that Michaels Homeschool Association of Chattanooga now has 2 complete locations and that we will be operating 4 days a week starting this coming fall 2017. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we will offer all our classes at East Chattanooga Church of God. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer all classes except for sciences at Oakwood Baptist Church. However, if anyone is interested in teaching our sciences at our new location and earn an extra income while loving on students at the same time, feel free to contact Livia Michaels at 423-290-4890 at anytime to set up an interview. Otherwise, we will continue as planned and offer everyone an alternative to choose from our 4 operational days. Oakwood Baptist Church also has a full Activities Building which we have been approved to utilize as well for our PE classes. We are very happy and blessed to serve in this capacity.

Registration begins tomorrow, April 1st! Our website has been complete and is ready for viewing at your convenience. Remember that we are offering a discount of $5 per registered class. DON'T MISS OUT! Feel free to stop by East Chattanooga Church of God on Mondays or Wednesdays to pick up a registration form(s). There will be someone to greet you! You are also welcome to get the form from our website and simply mail it out to us.

A SHORT TESTIMONIAL: As I made breakfast for my kids and myself this morning, I was reminded of all the overwhelming obstacles we have overcome this year alone. I was also reminded by a friend that we are "...strategically positioned in a spiritual battle to unleash a violent, terrorizing, attack upon satan by force feeding him TRUTH, waterboard him with the TRUTH of God's Word." We are not victims, but rather valiant warrior and a force to be reckoned with. Two verses came to mind:

"'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,' Says the Lord." -Isaiah 54:17

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

What wonderful verses of God's promises to us all! At this time, we would like to thank the staff at Oakwood Baptist Church for their quick decision in welcoming our homeschool group and being willing to be a part of the process/solution to help us grow. We would also like to thank East Chattanooga Church of God for their continual support of our ministry for the last 3 years. Hello Friends,

Please read this exciting news for the upcoming year 2017. Brace yourselves! There is A LOT of information. In celebration of our 8th consecutive year, we have several wonderful opportunities we want to share with you all.

First of all, our PE field trips and special events will be taking place mainly on Fridays starting in the fall (classes will still be on Mondays). This is important because it will open our schedule up to be able to add 6 extra PE class days throughtout the year. We will only be charging for 4 extra days giving everyone 3 FREE classes because I am also not charging for one class in the second semester. Woohoo! This is great news!

Second, we are adding sciences to our program. We are super excited to be bringing Mrs. Crystal Locke as our newest staff member on board. She has a Bachelor of Science Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Science Human Resources with teaching experience since 2009. Mrs. Locke graduated with honors, and she will be teaching our middle and high school sciences as well as our middle school mathematics. We are blessed to have her be a part of our team. Truly a God thing!

Third, Mr. Frank Johnson will continue to teach our high school mathematics classes up to Advanced Mathematics. Right now, he is working 3 jobs, but we would like for him to eventually only work for us and be able to free more of his time teaching with us which is his ultimate goal and one of his passions. Please spread the word about his classes! We want to keep providing this services for the future of our community.

Forth, Miss Nelida Burgos will continue to teach all our Spanish classes as well as our elementary math and Pre-Algebra classes. Miss Burgos and I have more exciting news to share with you all. This is HUGE news! Miss Nelida is looking at gathering more information for the possibility of having a mission trip to Latin America with her Spanish class(es) for next summer 2017. We still need to gather all the information and be approved first. This is where you all come in. Please be in prayer as we follow God's plans for our organization and for our individual spiritual growth. We trust our Heavenly Father for His vision and His provisions. We can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. We know in our hearts that if this is God's will, He will no doubt open the doors for this mission trip to take place, as He has already open so many doors for this organization and for His glory. We need God's people to pray. Thank you!

Last, early registration begins April 10th. When registering from April 10th - 15th, you will receive not only $5 off registration, but your name will also be placed in our drawing for 1 of 3 - $100 scholarship, as I promised last semester. Drawing will take place in late July. T-shirts will also be given to the first 50 registered students with registration fee included. Don't miss out!

Sorry for the lengthy message, but a lot is happening and I wanted to share it with you all. We are extremely blessed to have all this dedicated and amazing teachers under one roof. Please, please show your appreciation by spreading the word about all our classes that need to be filled up. In order to continue serving this community, we need a minimum of 5-6 students per class. We are so excited to share how God continues to bless and open doors for Michaels Homeschool Association of Chattanooga. We would like to announce and introduce everyone to our new academic site. East Chattanooga Church of God, located at 4872 Jersey Pike, Chattanooga, TN 37416, has opened their doors to our home school organization to meet our growing academic needs. This beautiful church will house both of our current Spanish and Mathematics classes (elementary through high school) beginning in January leaving us room for more future expansion. Our PE classes will remain at the Washington Hills Recreation Center area which provides us with a basketball court, football/soccer field, baseball fields, tennis courts, computer lab and game room area to meet our recreational needs. This two wonderful building sites are only within a half a mile from each other and helps us meet all our recreational and academic needs. We praise God for His goodness and favor for we are not ashamed to call Him Lord. Please pray with us as we embark in yet another phase of our journey. Thank you! Michaels Homeschool Association of Chattanooga is not only adding Mathematics to our program this coming fall 2015, but we also plan to offer Science for elementary, middle and high school students as well. Keep a lookout for next week's post as we will be introducing to you the 2 newest members of our team. They are both God sent and very well qualified to teach our children. Due to our numbers, we are now allowed to use our facility twice a week which will provide us with a more flexible schedule.

Also, our classes will be beginning in August and therefore we will be adding an extra month which will allow our academic programs to cover their material at a better pace. Along with all this exciting changes, our PE classes will also be adding a day of martial arts and a day of swimming to our already awesome sports program and field trips. We will do our best to have all this changes posted on our website by April 15, 2015, which is our early registration day. More information will be given soon. Don't miss it!

We are very thankful for God has answered our prayers in a mighty way and far above our expectations! Giving Him the glory!

EXCITING NEWS COMING UP! Michaels Homeschool Association of Chattanooga is planning on expanding once again. Our plans are to add Mathematics into our program this coming fall 2015. After considerable prayer and speaking to several parents regarding their children's educational needs, it was unanimous that Mathematics is a big challenge for many of our young people today. Therefore, if you have a degree in education, feel very comfortable in teaching Mathematics to elementary, middle, and high school students and are looking for an extra income, feel free to PM or contact Mrs. Livia Michaels at 423-290-4890. We will be conducting interviews in the months of March and April. We would love for you to be a part of our group.

We are extremely excited to see what God has done and continues to do in and through our program and look forward to serving Him through this ministry!
